Southern Style Chicken and Dumplings Recipe

1. Bisquick (1/2c)
2. cut up stewing chicken (1)
3. water (5c)
4. sliced onion (1small)
5. celery stalk (4)
6. pepper (1/8tsp)
7. salt (2tsp)
8. carrot cut into ½ inch slices (1med.)
9. For Dumpling (bisquick (1c), milk (1tbsp), egg (1).
Method of preparation:-
1. Take a large pot, place all the ingredients in it except dumpling. Keep this mixture to boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot and cook it for about 2 hours until the chicken gets soft.
2. Take a bowl, prepare the dumplings in it by mixing egg, bisquick and milk in it until the mixture gets moistened.
3. Take out the chicken and vegetables from the stew. Keep the stew to boil and then add ½ cup of bisquick in it to make gravy. Again keep it to boil by stirring to avoid it from sticking. When the gravy gets ready, then drop the dumplings in gravy.
4. Cook it for about 10 minutes. Remove the bones from the chicken. Put the vegetables and chicken again in the gravy and cook it with dumplings for about 15 minutes. When it gets ready then serve it with rice.
