Apple Kuchen Recipe

1. Thinly sliced tart apples (5c)
2. milk (1/4c)
3. beaten egg (1)
4. butter (1/4c)
5. salt (1/2tsp)
6. baking powder (1 1/2tsp)
7. sugar (1/4c)
8. silted flour (1 1/4c)
9. vanilla (1/4tsp)
For Topping:-
1. Cinnamon ice cream sauce or whipped cream
2. apricot preserves (1/3c)
3. melted butter (1/4c)
4. cinnamon (1tsp)
5. sugar (1/4tsp)
6. hot water (1tbsp)
Method of preparation:-
1. First heat the oven to 400 degrees F. Take a baking pan of 13*9-inch, lightly grease it.
2. Take a bowl of medium size, sieve flour, salt, baking powder and ¼ cup of sugar in it and mix it. Add ¼ cup of butter in it and blend this mixture until it becomes like coarse crumbs. Add beaten egg, vanilla and milk in it. Mix it for about 1 minute until the mixture becomes smooth.
3. Then spread the mixture evenly on greased pan. Place the apple slices over the batter with thin sides down and overlapping in parallel rows.
4. Take a bowl, mix cinnamon, sugar and melted butter in it. Mix it well and then dust it over the apple slices. Now place the pan in oven and bake it for about 35 minutes until apple slices get soft. Take out pan from oven and place on wire rack to cool.
5. Take a small bowl, add 1 tablespoon of hot water and mix apricot preserves in it. Brush it over the apple slices. Now cut the Kuchen in rectangles and serve it warm with whipped cream and sauce.
