Apple Raisin Streusel Kuchen Recipe

Ingredients
1. All purpose flour (1 1/2c)
2. granulated sugar, divided (2tbsp)
3. cooking spray
4. Golden Delicious or Rome apple, peeled and chopped (5c about 4large)
5. baking powder (1 1/4tsp)
6. granulated sugar (1/3c)
7. low fat butter milk (3/4c)
8. ground nutmeg (1/8tsp)
9. ground cinnamon (1/8tsp)
10. salt (1/4tsp)
11. baking soda (1/4tsp)
12. light colored corn syrup (2tsp)
13. chilled stick margarine (2 1/2tbsp)
14. ground nutmeg (1/4tsp)
15. ground cinnamon (1/2tsp)
16. all purpose flour (3tbsp)
17. packed brown sugar (1/2c)
18. raisins (1/2c)
19. grated lemon rind (1 1/2tsp)
20. vegetable oil (2 1/2tbsp)
21. egg substitute (1/4c)

Method of preparation:-
1. First heat the oven to 475 degrees F. Take a jelly-roll pan, coat it with cooking spray. Place apples in single layer on the pan and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar.

2. Place the pan in oven and bake it for 8 minutes at 475 degrees F. Stir the mixture and then sprinkle 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and again bake it for about 7 minutes until the apples becomes soft. Then keep them to cool.

3. Now turn down the temperature to 375 degrees F. Add flour in measuring cup and mix it with baking powder, baking soda, 1/3 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, ground cinnamon and 1/8 tsp nutmeg. Now combine oil, egg substitute, rind and buttermilk and beat it well until the mixture gets moist. Slowly add raisins and apples in it.

4. Take a spring form pan of 10-inch, coat it with cooking spray and then place the pan in baking sheet. Mix ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, 3 tablespoon of flour and brown sugar in a bowl.

5. Mix margarine and corn syrup with a blender until the mixture looks like coarse meal. Dust it over the batter in the pan.

6. Place the pan in oven and bake it for about 50 minutes at 375 degrees F until the tooth pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Then place it on wire rack to cool.
