Chocolate Sheet Cake Recipe

Ingredients

For Cake:-
1. Cake flour (2c)
2. buttermilk (1/2c)
3. cocoa (1/2c)
4. safflower oil (1/2c)
5. water (1c)
6. butter or margarine (1/4lb)
7. salt (a pinch)
8. sugar (2c)
9. extra large eggs (2)
10. bicarbonate of soda (1tsp)

For Icing:-

1. Cocoa (2tbsp)
2. buttermilk (2dessertspoons)
3. butter or margarine (5tbsp)
4. vanilla essence (1tsp)
5. icing sugar (1 1/2c)

Method of preparation:-
1. For Cake; first heat the oven to 400 degrees F or 200 degrees C. Take a baking sheet of 12*10*2 inch, grease it. Take a bowl, mix cake flour, cocoa, salt and sugar in it.

2. Take a saucepan, heat safflower, water and butter in it until it gets boiling. Take off the pan from heat and keep it to cool slightly. Pour it over the flour mixture.

3. Mix baking soda and buttermilk in it. Beat the eggs and then add to the flour mixture and mix it. Now pour the batter into the greased baking sheet. Place the sheet in oven and bake it for about 25 minutes at 400 degrees F.

4. For Icing; take a pan, heat buttermilk, butter and cocoa in it until it gets boiled. Add vanilla essence and icing sugar in it and then pour the hot icing over the hot cake. Keep the cake to cool, cut it into squares and serve it.
