Christmas Cherry Cream Bars Recipe

Ingredients
1. Flour (1c)
2. egg (1)
3. sugar (1/4c)
4. cream cheese, softened (1 pkg about 8 ounce)
5. firmly packed dark brown sugar (1/3c)
6. cold butter, cut in chunks (6tbsp)
7. candied green cherries, quartered (1/2c)
8. candied red cherries, quartered (1/2c)
9. lemon juice (1tbsp)

Method of preparation:-
1. First heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Take a square baking pan of 8-inch, line it with foil. Overhang the foil from all sides of pan. Take an electric mixer, add flour, brown sugar and butter in small bowl of the mixer. Blend the mixture at low speed until the mixture becomes crumbly.

2. Reserve the 1/3 of this mixture. Place the remaining mixture in baking pan and press it. Place the pan in oven and bake for about 10 minutes at 350 degrees F.

3. Take a bowl of medium size, mix egg, sugar, cream cheese and lemon juice in it until the mixture becomes smooth. Mix cherries in it and pour it over the crust. Then dust the reserved crumbs over it.

4. Again bake it for about 20 minutes until the filling mixture still shakes slightly in the center. Take it out from oven and keep it to cool and place in refrigerator to chill. Take it out from the pan by using foil and then cut it into 24 bars.
