Open Face Apple Upside Down Pie (Milopita) Recipe

Ingredients
1. Unsalted butter (1/4 cup)
2. ground cinnamon (1/2 tsp)
3. sugar (3 tbsp)
4. unsalted butter (for pan)
5. red apples (3 to 3 1/3 pounds)
6. sugar (2 tbsp)

For The Pie Crust:-

1. Lukewarm water (1/2 cup)
2. unsalted butter, softened (3/4 cup)
3. all purpose flour (2 ½ cup)
4. cornstarch (for work surface)
5. salt (a pinch)

Method Of Preparation:-
1. Take a round baking pan of 14-inch in diameter. Take apples, wash them, peel and cut them into thin slices and take out the seeds. Take a baking pan, butter it lightly and then lightly dust 2 tablespoon of sugar in the pan. Place the apple slices to cover the bottom.

2. Take a small bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar in it and then dust 3 tablespoons of it over the apples. Dot it with ¼ cup of butter and then cut it into small pieces. Keep it aside.

3. Take a large bowl, mix all the ingredients of crust except cornstarch in it. Knead the mixture for about 10 to 15 minutes to make a ball and then wrap it in plastic wrap. Keep it in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.

4. Now heat the oven to 355 degrees F or 180 degrees C. Dust the cornstarch on working surface and roll out the crust with roiling pin slightly bigger in size than the pan.

5. Place the crust on the top of the apples and place it on oven to bake for about 10 to 20 minutes at 355 degrees F until the crust changes to golden in color. Take out the pan from oven and place a serving plate over the pan. Invert it to transfer the pie on the plate and then serve it.
