Apple Walnut Cake Recipe

Ingredients
For sponge cake:
1. 1eggless chocolate sponge cake

For Filling:
1. Ground cinnamon (1/2tsp)
2. water or rum (2tbsp)
3. peeled, cored and sliced apples (4 to 5 dessert apples)
4. sugar (4tbsp)

For soaking syrup:

1. Water (1c)
2. sugar (2tbsp)

For topping:
1. Whipping cream (1 1/2c)
2. walnuts praline (8tbsp)

Method of preparation:-

1. For Filling:- Take a saucepan, Cook the apples with cinnamon, sugar and 2 tablespoon of water in the pan to make the puree. When the puree gets ready then take off the pan from heat and keep it to cool and then add the rum.

2. Take sponge cake, slice the cake horizontally into two layers. Soak the cake layers with the soaking syrup. Sandwich both the layers of cake with the apple puree.

3. Spread the whipped cream evenly on the top and sides and then spread the crushed walnuts praline over it.

Number of servings – 4 to 6
Preparation time – 30 minutes + baking time 30 minutes
