1. Mutton (1 1/2lb)
2. garlic (4cloves)
3. onions (3med.)
4. cream (3/4c)
5. oil (1/2c)
6. garam masala (1/2tsp)
7. coriander seeds (1tsp)
8. red pepper (1tsp optional)
9. almonds (1oz)
10. saffron (a pinch)
11. yogurt (3/4c)
12. salt (2tsp)
13. coriander leaves (for garnish)
Method of preparation:-
1. Take mutton, clean it, wash it and then dry it. Blend the onion, garlic, almonds and coriander seeds in a blender. Put the blended mixture in a bowl and then marinade the mutton in this mixture for about 2 hours.
2. Take a pan, heat the oil in it and fry the thinly sliced onions in it. Keep the fried onions aside. Add the marinade mutton in the pan and fry it until the liquid gets dry up.
3. Add 3/4cup of warm water, cover and simmer until the meat is almost cooked. Then add salt and pepper. Now remove the cover and cook it until the liquid gets dry. Add beaten yogurt and fry until it leaves oil. Add the fried ground onions.
4. Beat the cream and add soaked saffron and then mix it with the cooked mutton. Now add garam masala and baked it for ½ an hour at 250 degrees F. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serves it in a serving dish with chapatti or rice.
