Mexican Sugar Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
All purpose flour (6c), white sugar (1c), baking powder (1tsp), salt (1/2tsp), shortening (2 1/2c), ground anise seeds (1tsp), white sugar (1c), orange juice (1/4c), cream of tartar (1/2tbsp), ground cinnamon (3tbsp).

Method Of Preparation:-
First heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Take a large bowl, add shortening in it and then beat it until it gets light. Add anise seeds and sugar of 1 cup in the bowl. Mix well until the mixture gets creamy. Now add eggs in the bowl and again mix it properly. Then add flour, salt, baking powder, orange juice and cream of tartar in the bowl. Mix all the Ingredients well to make dough. Now knead the dough to make it smooth. Sprinkle some flour on the flat surface and then roll the dough into ½ inch thick. Now cut the cookies of different shapes with a cutter. Take a baking dish; place the cookies on the dish about 1 inch apart. Place the dish in the oven and bake it for 5 to 9 minutes or until the cookies get lightly brown. Now take out the dish from the oven and keep it to cool for sometime. Take a plate, mix sugar of 1 cup and cinnamon in it. Then roll the lightly warm cookies in this sugar mixture. When the cookies get cool then serve them.
